I discovered the other day
What smell
You have always infected my world with.
~Poinsettias~
Those beautiful red flowers
That hide the color of blood so well.
And at the moment of my epiphany
I immediately started scribbling
Ideas
On the paper I reserved for you
~*~
Another fruitless attempt
To try and capture who you are.
~*~
And oh how long
I have waited
To find a beautiful way to tell you this...
"I hope you know you’re an angel
As hard as I have worked
To prove that fact to you.
You’ve been graced with the smile of God,
And the beauty of a white winter.
You are what fuels the past,
Hurdling memories
Of a better time
Straight to the fore front of our minds."
I should have said
These things so much sooner
But I feared you wouldn't believe.
So now alone I sit
Surrounded by hundreds of
~Poinsettias~
Just to keep your memory alive
And To feel like you’re still next to me.
