I often wait for the ocean to speak.
I think it must be the most honest voice.

But I am easily distracted and
wander off
in between the grains of sand.
Counting them like stars, wishing
they could be treated the same.

[ironic. the wishing.]

I often wait for the ocean

Left still, and wanting.
and waiting

always waiting...

I think the first two lines are marvelous. But, I'll be honest, it feels like the rest of it was put together just to turn those first two into a full-fledged poem. I'd keep working on this, it has the potential to be a really meaningful piece. (Hope you're OK with a critique - I mean well.)
