It's been so long, (too long)
since the chill of autumn
shocked my vertebrae.

Now memories come sprinting back to me.
Mainly of you, but sometimes us
and how we coasted
along the backstreet's of our favorite town.
With every step enjoying the familiarity
that much more.

But the longer I taste this bitter sweet nostalgia
the more I come to realize,
that yes you loved
and you loved well.
But I was never the hand you wanted to hold.

So it's ok sweetheart,
contrary to popular belief
you can fall out of what you were never in.

"I was never the hand you wanted to hold" in your heartache and your raw sorrow, i find these bits of scattered beauty and i've come to realize, the more you decorate your pain with your soul, the more appealing it is.
