I hide in the shadows
The truth you never see
The emptiness hides
All I really want to be

I bend to your every wish
My fate decided for me
Craving all the answers
Of those who went before me

You mold me into something
I never thought I’d be
My will is my own no more
How could I fail to see

The shadows hide the loneliness
The emptiness inside
The pain of insecurity
I tried so hard to hide

You see right through me
The shadows you betray
My defenses are for nothing
If you should have your way
