Dancing close together
Moving as one
I reach to touch your hand
A moment to stop time
A sudden realization
Of what you left behind

How could I not have seen
The simple golden band
Missing from your finger
Stunning me as we dance

You know I know
I look at you
The look of love returned
A kiss to freeze reality
Wanted since time began

Could you be mine
Or is this just a dream
One for the memory
Of what was meant to be

A signal of the beginning
A signal of the end

A night to live forever
In the shadows of my mind
A night that love was present
Not hiding beyond sight

The last night of forever
Of wishing to be yours
A night I’ll always wonder
If dreams were all there were
Could you have really loved me
A question never answered

A night to live forever
In the shadows of my mind
A night to dream of always
Of love left behind
