When you came around
I thought "we're alike"
You and I
You said "I see what you are"
So, I remained
True to my nature
And I bit you
I am what I am
How long has it been?
I wanted to make you surrender
To my will, to my way
Envelop you so sweetly
But
You sloped off
Like a tuck-tailed bitch
Sorrowful
Seeking surreptitiously
To get to higher ground
Out of reach
Of piercing eyes
Steely
Seeking satisfaction
In your subjugation
You attached yourself
In some lofty place
Self imposed exile
Safe, softly sleeping
In a silent silk scenario
I laid in wait
for your return
Inactive in your absence
Longing
Now, restless you awake
I feel your ache
I ache too!
You itch and squirm and burn
I burn too!
You seek to break
The walls you've built
I seek escape myself
We ARE alike!
You break through!
Transformed
Beautiful
And I?
I too have lost my skin
My tough exterior
But I remain unchanged?
I watch as you take flight
And I slither off alone
Come back!
I want to pluck your wings!
I am what I am....
You looked so surprised
When I bit you.
