For my little brother, remember when the girls really were babies and we were invincible, I love you Travis.
My feet planted firmly on the metal grate
Both hands holding onto the bar
Pigtails flowing freely behind me
Spinning in circles ever faster
I squeal in delight as I cry
"Faster Travis, faster!"
One more mighty push
He jumps on across from me
Balancing our whirling world
We can spin that much longer
We both lay dawn
Hook our feet together in the middle
Stare up at the blue skies
White puffy clouds
A spin art mosaic
Felt in the bottoms of our tummies
The autumn leaves
Blown about by our play
Leave tracers in our cloud art
Eventually we will be found
Our baby sisters wanting to play too
Travis will jump off into the grass
Stop the ride so Kim and Kathryn can clamber on
Push us girls gently, safely
But for the moment it's just us two
riding the fast and reckless merry-go-round
Revelling in the high speeds
And the distant blur of the real world
