Authors note: One of the simplest things I've ever written this is truly a day in my life.
pushing my cart down the hall
thoughts trailing above my head
each time I grasp one I pull out my little note book
jot it down under the unicorn
no rhyme or pattern
bits and pieces of me
recorded for all eternity
under the unicorn
favorite line of an old song
I can use that
stick the pencil back in my pontytail
stored for a later date
often times forgotten
the stinky bus ride home
pull out my little note book
read what i jotted for the day
samples of my consciousness
write my conclusion
mostly nonsense
bits and pieces of me
recorded for all eternity
under the unicorn
at my computer after a tv dinner
drink in one hand
smoke burning down at my elbow
open up my little notebook
read my conclusion
bits and pieces of me
recorded for all eternity
under the unicorn
put my fingers on the keyboard
pausing to collect my thoughts
I close my eyes and begin to write
words locking together
like an intricate puzzle
letters stumbling and tumbling
until they click into place
always titled
bits and pieces of me
recorded for all eternity
under the unicorn
