lost in a sea of confusion
waves crashing against my hopes and dreams
washing away the edges of my happiness
ripped from my shores like driftwood
never to find a final resting place
meant to circle my world
always just beyond my fingertips
helplessly oaring against the tide
drifting further and further away
I close my eyes and pray
dreams of being found
flutter behind my eyes
floating in absolute solitude
illusions of happiness sustaining me
knowing in my salt filled heart
there's no one above
no one below
truly in this world
I swim all alone

I know what you mean. But God, sometimes it's better being alone. Everyone needs a break, right? Nice write, this was deep.
