inspired by my friend Dain, a truer friend I'll never have

oh baby boy what have I done
you lay there weeping and no more can I hold you
each salty tear drop a needle in my heart
I never meant to use you
thought eventually I could love you
but it never came did it
having finally found the courage to stand up and say no more
all I want to do is take it back
pretend that everything is ok
all the hurtful reasons
I should have kept to myself
why you're not the one for me
because I really do see
my future is strong and bright
but in my vision
it's not you walking beside me
you stand off to the side
your face unclear
clouded by a black hate
angered that you can't marr my happiness
I'm so sorry baby boy
let me hold you
kiss away your tears
your fears
to weak to stay strong
I belong to you once more
for now your passion
is stronger than my future

Portrays being caught up in the cataclysm of life. You try so hard not to hurt others that you forsake yourself, if you get caught in that cycle then you're giving up your own hopes and dreams to placate another.
