The seeds of my envy
grow in my mind like great, green grapes.
Plump with jealousy,
juicy with dripping hate.
My envy is a sweetness that you just have to taste.
Roll its bitter fruit around on your tongue.
Feel its smoothness,
its familiarity.
Chew it up, swallow it.
Feel the pulpy mass slither down your throat
to settle in your belly.
Feel the seeds of your own envy begin to germinate.

This is such a well developed similie in so few words. The precision here couldn't express envy any better. ....-samone
