"Forbidden Fruits" by soul dancer

Forbidden fruits have the sweetest nectar,
but only before the fall.
The poison sets in,
once the dirty deed is done.
Something once plump with passion,
slowly rots,
crumpling into decay,
with every guilty, secretive bite.

They say hindsight is 20/20.
Live and learn.
I say regret can slowly kill you.
Guilt is like a carrion eater,
plucking little pieces of your soul.
Until one day your body is nothing
but an empty canister.
Temptation is a tricky little bitch,
teasing, pulling at you.
She clouds your mind with
ripe, red desire.

So the choice you need to make is this:
Sample the simple fruits of life,
save yourself from guilt and pain.
Or gorge upon exotic fare,
steal from the plates of others,
and live to regret.
