Under the weeping willow
Grows a lake of salty tears

In a boat of concrete
She sits, dangles her fears

The worms writhe and jiggle
On that sharp sharp hook

Sleep now; live later
Choked by her bile

She is just an arsenic princess
With her absinthe smile

Those outro lines were very well contrived. I enjoyed this.

10 short lines of bilious wonder. Classical imagery intertwined with the disturbed mind of a sick princess. Excellent.

well the title reminded me of Shelley being described as having 'a maggot in his brain'...as though something writhes and drives him toward an unsettled vision...I like the fact this explores a distastful element of beauty in a manner of speaking...

arsenic princess/absinthe smile...I like that, neat ending there...
