I knew what I had
When I had it
I knew how beautiful it was
How glorious the frame
How sweet the sentiments
I knew how lucky I was
How sweet it had been
I knew that I could not
let it get away
I tried to hold onto it
I demanded that it
"STAY HERE!
Don't leave me
You are what I want,
What I need
All that I desire
Without you, I am nothing"
But it recoiled
It would not be owned
It would not be mine
A treasure for everyone
It slipped out of my hands
Once free, it ran away
Who could blame it?
I knew what I had
when I had it
And now
I am without you
Right now
I am nothing.

"I knew what I had/when I had it/And now/I am without you" *flings out her arms for balance* You're gonna knock me down one of these days, dear, and I'm gonna find that I have no strength with which to pick myself back up. Excellent. ~*Beth*~
