The first cut is a lie
scrawled in manic strokes
written in the language of despair
written in the newly purpled
and bleeding
C H U N K S
of tissues and
tears

The second cut is the truth
there is no way back
it's a short drop
down the rabbit hole
have you seen the
little
white rabbit?

You lose count
as you lose your mind
the knife comes faster,
harder
it doesn't look like skin anymore
just blood and hate
muscle and
malice

Very visceral. It's kind of sickening, but that's what I love about it.

I agree, the first stanza...pain to die for. And your last four lines are the glue that holds everything together. Excellent write. ~*Beth*~
