"That's the first sign"
The doctor says
"That's the first sign
That you are dying"
But I've heard that song before
And I've seen the doctor
As he dances
The same old dance
Tapping his toe to the tune
Of my slow and silent death
The loss of it -
And ten more pounds
Have brought me back
To your dancing and singing face.
But I refuse
To let you take me away
From the only thing I am good at
Even if it IS
Death
