        This world we live in
        Can't even trust your "friend"
        Over run, poverty-stricken,
Can it come to an end?

I tell myself we are who we are
        For balance, For power
        We stand where we stand
But no one will tell me when to fall

If the greediness could exceed the need
They could give out their share
How happy some could also be
But I guess they are too scared

        This world we live in
        Can't even keep a friend
        Too political and encased
I want the hate to end

I do what I can, but my surroundings
        Continue to get stranger
        What else can we do?
        But save ourselves from danger

I tell myself we are who we are
For a reason. For knowledge and understanding,
Are still unclear, but no one will tell what to believe.

Heavily felt. I'm afraid I've become disillusioned with the world also, and I have no answer. I write, I think, it helps... and I'm so glad I've come to see what I see now! ;)
