72 hours.

~ verablue ~

Before words open doors
and the walls close in around
your skin consumed me in the waking hours
suffocating on sweet skies and cocaine sex
dirty hendricks martinis
little white lies laced across my chest

we wasted away for hours
as the world turned dark

you wasted away inside me
needy and greedy and violent
hungry

only 72 hours
no time for sleep
lube and cigarettes
dirty words falling from lips
like the sand as the hour glass trickles past
playing on words and promises
that in 3 days time we'll come to an end

we always end

and never pick back up at the beginning
so I indulge myself like a child on christmas
needy and greedy and violent
hungry

then silence.

Tumbling words of pure brilliance from one of this site's best poetic wonders. I won't call it a comeback, 'cause you never really went away. Blazing :)
