The night surrounds me
As a mother to her newborn.
My eiderdown is the velvet, diamond-studded sky,
Soft sweet grass is my silk-and-feather pillow.

The moon is my night-lantern,
Banishing darkness from my soul,
And the music of the forest
Lulls me to sleep
And cradles me through my dreams.
