Where once was business and bustling noise
Only crumbled steel remains
Too fast to stop destruction
And our lives forever changed

Frightened families sit in horror
Pray that loved ones keep their lives
Cross fingers that they left unscathed
By apocalyptic dives.

In an instant, mass hysteria
At the awful tidings found
Tears and blood, both shed, take our country's soul
And ram it to the ground.

Fear not, O Children of America;
Let voices rise in song.
We shall rebuild our homeland
And begin once more, twice as strong.

Dedicated to the memory of those lost on September 11, 2001, and also to their families.

This was a great, simple tribute to the lives of those lost on that tragic day, which is all the more great for not getting into the murky politics behind the events.

Thanks. I hate how something so tragic turned into a rallying banner, instead of a memorial. Because of the repated citing of 9/11 for our current problems, we as a nation (I think) have been unable to move on. I'm a revolutionary. Oh noes!!!1
