The warm night air surrounds
my cold heart.
The loud locust fills
my silent ears.
The brilliant moon shines on
my blind eyes.
The obnoxious mosquito pricks
my numb skin.
The musty air invades
my plugged nostrils.
The song of the night is in
my mute throat.
