Perched upon window sill of stone
bare feet soaking up the cold
I wait for the moon to herald my cause
That death is nigh and you're never alone

Chilling gust sweeps by into yonder room
as a howl beckons from some lonely place
Harkening the full moons zenith
--and the wolves scream in cresendo--

Unfurling leathered wings I freefall
and catch a volant coast over pine tops below
Sweet melody in death's behest
Yelps and cries of my Black Shuck grow

An earthbound Incubus of hell
That eerie bump in the night
I drop onto a house of old
to seek a farmer alone at his fire aglow

Starttled out of his wit, inside a tattered awareness
he stammers a croak of, " who's there!?!"
Little does he know he spoke my invite
to that which he solemnly forbears

Black as pitch my shade encroaches
upon his squalid domain
Your seething trepidation turned my abject delight
It pleasures me to know I'm all you disdain

Throbbing hot vein calling me out
Eager to quaff on poignant copper
I beset from behind, betraying no sign
to squelch a potential wail of terror

Bone dry tongue ravages pulsing jugular
to taste pallor skin drenched in funk
An elixer of salt and hormonal sustenance
No longer can I withstand this temperance

--Broken flesh 'pops' like an apple skin--

Oh sweet ambrosia burning partched lips and throat
I lap at a precious spilled stream,
squeeze and suck harder till a drained husk I drop
Lewd gluttony within this red-eyed dream

Evil I am, born from naked malevolence
No eudemonic fate became of me
Inexplicably blood-guilty, lecher, desolate...
Forever will I arrogate these dark pleasures of my perdition
Corrupting when I wish
Corrupting where my wanderlust takes me
Corrupting who I desire
Hate is not enough to explain me
In life I dwelt within the numb safety of my own indifference
In undeath an Archfiend shrouded in deviltry
On this sacred night, All Hallow's Eve
Let loose your Lycanthrope cries and partake and revel with us debtors on this Witches Sabbath.

Happy Halloween!!

...and Happy Samhain to you! I love this story and imagery. I read it as the song "Thriller" was going on somewhere in the back of my neglected brain. When I got to the last stanza, the music stopped, and the vampire was in my head.

this was excellent an idea, but for the choping and changing of rhyme;metrical attempts...and it became disjointed and diffiult to digest, yet conveyed some fresh and exciting ideas and language

it's a shame you didn't seem to make up your mind...you should have structured it either with more a metrical symmetry or free verse with the metaphors and images doing the do...
