She swore belief
In spooning mermaids
Caressing scales
Like piano keys
From cold to warmth
She dreams in their hair
Follicle nights
Saves her from despair
Floating
On seas
On beams
In clouds
Of condensation
But most of all
She floats
On the touch of
Warm hair and cold scales
And the clasp
Of those beautiful hands
Over hers
