I stand here.

The sky is dying under my feet,
as I clutch this heart to my chest.

My lips part to scream but I can't...
Can't scream,
Can't hear,
Can't see.
Can't scream.

Wordless, I fall to your feet and weep a little,
clutching this heart to my chest,
the sky is dying.

Under my feet,
I feel the scratch of your fingertips against the inside
 of my swollen breath.

You promised.

And as the heavens in their expanse of blue,
choke and wither to orange and violet,
I think of my only deadly sin.

I stand here with this heart clutched to my chest.

Love, you will always be my slip.
