I've entangled myself
within your heartstrings.
I hope you don't mind.
It's just that
my bones ache
to rest inside you,
next to your
violently pounding heart.
I want my blood
to course through your veins
and I want your blood
to flow through my veins.
I want to stretch
my heart
so you can wear it
like some
bizarrely unique necklace,
an irreplaceable gift of my affection.
I want your eyes
to be the mirrors
of my soul.
I want your ears
to be able to hear
the not-so-subtle way
that your tone changes
with your mood.
It's adorable
in an extremely odd way.
I've entangled myself
within your heartstrings.
I hope you don't mind.
