Tell me all about
 your heartrending past
and I'm sure to
sympathize and fall,
 heart first,
for you and you beautiful lies.

 Weave your tragic history
with silver webbed words.

Don't forget the
 rain clouds,
crying children,
and wounded unicorns.

 The more desolate
 and melancholy,
the more likely
 I will be to
 weep and grab onto you,
afraid to let you fall again.

Make the story
artfully intricate,
 but simple too.

Make it believable.

Never let me find out
 that your tragic life
was utterly specious.

 If I become aware
of your fraudulence,
I will drop you in your
 own ocean of despair
and let you drown.

I will find someone
 whose tale is
much more disheartening
 than yours..

I'm a pathological liar. A serial embellisher. This struck a chord... It's beautifully written and hit the right notes. Thank you for sharing.
