saturnine melodies
from a child's
musicbox
shimmer
like stars
above the
silence
as she dances,
in circles,
on her toes.
close the box
and she'll drop
like a doll,
pale pinafore
falling like
snow.
she'll hide in
the darkness
till you let in
the light
and force her
to dance
to a desolate
tune.
