You pluck my wings
feather by feather
i watch them fall to earth
its hard to believe something so light
can carry the weight of my world
my eyes awashed in tears
i do not see the satisfaction
you get in knowing i will never fly again
I watch as feather by feather
i am reduced to a mere mortal
my immortality stolen from me
yet i sit immobile as you laugh
and in your laughter
i hear echoes of all the things never said
why do you hurt me when you love me
blood trickles down my spine
it tickles me but i do not smile
the full impact of your treachary
reaches all the way to my soul
the broken spirit inside of me rebels
but is just to weak to fight back
why didnt you just kill me
you knew i treasured my freedom above all else
but feather by feather
you take it from me
yet i do not mind because i know i deserve this
How does it feel knowing you made an angel fall for you
