I want to crawl inside your chest cavity
and sleep forever close to your heart
become an extension of you
slowly fading becoming an illusion
without my other half
Maybe you knew...
You could break me with a single look
no words exchanged
my shallow heartbeat echoes
in time with yours
I lay my head on your heart
a beating pillow
it whispers to me
words have never cut so deep
Maybe you knew...
You could hurt me and
I needed your warmth
as the coldness of your voice
seeps into my bones
you leave me bereft
aching and longing
for one more of the lies that
fall so prettilly from your lips
just one more kiss
Maybe you knew...
I died of heartbreak a thousand times
for one more chance of being
close to you
rocking me to sleep in your ribcage
talking in insistent whispers
of now but never forever
I use your soft tissue as a blanket
to help me through the lonely nights
when the only comfort I have
is the beating of your heart
Maybe you knew...
I needed you to sleep~
