You hold my hand
as if I am the only thing
that holds you together
and I am letting go so that I
may watch you shatter

I can no longer stand behind the illusion
you wrapped me in
I pretended to be blind so long
I have forgetten
how to see

cataracts and low self esteem

you never had to bleed
not for me

and when my heart got ripped
from my chest
I felt nothing but relief
because my messy emotions then
became your problem

I dont want to be your crutch anymore
so lift the weight of your world
off my shoulders
before I drop it

and I will drop it
because I am not strong enough
to hold on any longer
without being crushed

Others burdens are not your cross to bare, besides i dont think we truly repair, or emotionally grow until we feel it on a solo basis, it may have to be a forced choice by a significant other, but the answers they need rise to the surface when they stop relying on others, for it's the last line of defence.
