I try
to make things work,
pull, fight and struggle,
work for something that
is never there.

I try
to make the words
flow down the page,
cascading like a
waterfall. The words
fall on deaf ears.

I try
to make her see,
I am all she needs.
Love unbound falls
back onto my shoulders,
pushing me deeper into
the sand.

I try
to fight, to make her
want to want me. To see
the potential I see in her,
For her to take chance,
to see I am all she
needs.
