I have witnessed the brightest and strongest of my peers turned to dust,
scattered by the scream of a dying rights
begging, tired and starving
fighting a society that has shunned them for wanting a bright future
to hold on to

war torn gladiators begging for the freedom of the people for the people
a battle that god could not stop;
the war taken to the pigs in office dropping hellish bombs,
the battle raged in one dingy shithole after another

who stood with bloody knuckles and tattered clothing
celebrating the music that took them to their messiah
standing below the stage listening to the words of their minister telling
to open their sadden eyes, to shatter their former lives;

who fought the first wave of the war with each other
 in unity, preparing to take the punishment to those above waiting to break their
spirits and cast them to the hell of conformity and acceptance

who stood daring to be strong, be bold and to be different
flags of multiple colors draped from their back pockets; together
showing the strength of their scene

who gave their last good thought to god, buddha or allah and had their religion
torn from their chest by from a faithless face that made them
want to give their bodies to a wave of willing sin

who had drunken sex in public parks that they will never remember
bodies pressing in a liquoured stupor, over the moans and groans of their
pleasure the seraphim sang their celestial chorus
damning those below

who took the fights to the streets of Boston, they fought to keep the city clean
friends that stand united even in the face of the pigs who battered them
for fighting off the swastika wielding members of the Church of Ephesus
from their sanctuary for gutting those who did note believe in the
hate of the A.N.P

who lost themsevles in the face of dying creativity and dropped out of school
to make more of that all mighty dollar to reward
the ever growing Church of Wal-Mart to help feed the
capitalistic carnivore of the gods in power with the name,
CEO

with heavy hearts and beaten bodies they still forge ahead; angels of a beaten generation
keep wanting a divine intervention for god’s forgotten children to give them one
last chance

A lot of truth contained in this thought provoking write.
