I try to mouth the words,
nothing comes out but a
blank stare. Looking in
your eyes, there is
enough light to shed away
the darkness in my life.

Peeling away the layers of
of the things I hide. Looking at
me and seeing more than I
ever knew I could reveal.

Holding tightly, pulling back
something I always do. Trying to
fight. Wanting to let you know,
trying not to let my fear take over.
Drive me away.

Holding my ground. One day
at a time.

The fear of opening up, of showing one's true self to a soul who holds your gaze unlike any other ever has...it's a difficult thing to maneuver around. Great piece. ~*Beth*~
