The wings of a dragon,
Span the shadow in front of me.
The stealth manuvering in the sky,
A gut feeling I'm going to die.

Enormous wings spreading out,
Wrapping them around me creating doubt.
The fiery breath against my neck,
Knowing he's right up to my back.
The pain to feel his claws,
Rip through my back out of my chest.
The deathly torture he inflicted,
Watching the heart beat unrestricted.

Seeing my life past before my eyes,
Not much time before I die.
This anguish I felt a million times,
Raising my arms to the skies.
The misery I lived through in this life,
Trying to rid myself with a knife.
Failed attempts to live in peace,
Finding a way to become deceased.

Growing weary from the eye of the beholder,
My body starts to become colder.
The body telling me to gasp for air,
With no heart inside there is only despair.
If only to have one more chance,
For just one more romance.
But I took the time I had for granted,
My soul leaving my body, I'm being supplanted.

Watching my heart come to a slow beat,
The bloodstained claws show my defeat.
Viewing the world with my new set of eyes,
The body dies and I grow wise.
To live a life that I should've,
Only to end with a could've.

Telling him my worse regret,
I will no longer be a silhouette.
Placing my heart back into my chest,
Possessed with a feeling of being blessed.
Remind me once more before you leave,
The pain and torture you conceive.
Sew up my chest so you will leave again,
If you shall ever return I will return the pain.

Life has changed with one tick of the clock,
Never to be the same with each and every walk.
The thoughts of you are in my mind,
Hearing your name in the wind.
As you can see I cheated my own death,
I receive life to inhale another breath.

Finding a new joy in my life - making time,
For you are worth anything as you're so sublime.
To feel your arms around me one last night.
As to help me keep my future bright.
As I do know the dragon will return once more,
I just need one last person to fall for.
When you hear his roar from the Eastern side,
You know that I tried & we will collide.
He will have the upper hand; all I will have is pride.
