cheer and love are new to me
you wait in the morning light
you're waiting in the dew for me
i'm sleeping in the night

give me a kiss to wake me
you're spirit sets me free
nothing can you take from me
i'd give my life for thee

today i know just what it's like
to have the perfect friend
but then we get into a fight
our love will stray once then

your shining face can't halt me
your spirit makes me happy
the things i say are never new
they always mean 'i love you too'
