You see that girl there
All dressed in black
Cold and hardened to the world
Heart shut off because of how hurt she is
I am the person there
Holding her as she cries
Making her feel safe in my arms
As I tell her how beautiful she is
You see that skinny guy over there
With the needle and drugs
Running away from his pain
By hurting more
I am there next to him
Talking to him
Telling him it will be alright
As he drops them
That woman who is pregnant
Over in the corner
Rubbing her bulging belly
In deep sorrow at the thoughts of raising a child alone
I am there to comfort her
I am there to take all her worrying away
And tell her how life will work out
How strong she is
You see that big guy out in the middle of the empty field
The one pulling the knife closer to his throat
Preparing to end his own life
Feeling hurt and betrayed wanting to sucumb to the cold
I am that person
I dont have anyone to make it better
To take this hurt away
But I look over my shoulder once more
Just to look with a glimpse of hope
That there is someone is standing there
To help me......to stop me.......
