If encased in a web of my own devise
Would you sever the strands that hold me?
Or watch as as the gloom descends
Entranced in my depression and longing
Holding out blindly these atrophied hands
Dribbling out frail words
That turn to ashes in your wake

The mascara ran freely down your face
Tracing pathways away from solace
Rivulets of saline questions
To which no answers could I provide

I watched the child in his sickly state
Take the torment of his condition
And forge it into will
And I wonder...
Have I become that child?
With a heart so hard and brittle
That it crumbles as I present it

And your perfume still lingers over this chill room
Touching me with vanilla fingers reeking of decay
Like the thousand roses I crushed over everything
Wilted into memories

Could you fight your way through my solitude?
Through this shell I have constructed
And warm me with your compassion
Or would I only see your pity
And smell your fear
As I caress the outline of your face?

The shadows are swirling into a caricature
A blasphemous form of you
As you looked as I once pictured
A goddess in my eyes
That I partook of without measure
A hollow husk that I sucked dry
A hallowed body consecrated in my devise

When my blood tastes of shame like never before
And I spill my worth to you across this floor
With clarity aching my grip on this cold steel rail
I confess to you, my love
Through this tinge of darkness of my soul
Abounding in the blackest depths of my heart

Your absence pains me
The contempt you glare torments my wakefulness
The times we shared are my nightmares
And you are the ghost that will forever haunt my desire

If I could kiss you once more
Could you taste my remorse?

This is georgeous. A plea from behind the walls of shame. Perhaps taken for granted and misunderstood. How the world is cruel....

"Like the thousand roses I crushed over everything/Wilted into memories" Damn...you left yourself vulnerable to the world with this one, and you did so with not one stuttered syllable. Excellent. ~*Beth*~
