hold me close
just one more time
in the stillness of an april night
when the pavement of the street
outside your window
glistens in the newly fallen rain
don't speak
please don't let the words
i've waited all my life to hear
tumble from your lips
and give me a reason to
ask you to stay

we both knew
somewhere between an ocean breeze
and the chill of november
this day would come
i was too close to push away
you were too distant
to pull in close
we fought and came together
but always
we knew this would be the end

turn away now, baby
please just turn
because i think my heart will
bleed me dry
if i stare into those deep chocolate eyes
that say so much
and nothing
all at the same time
and it's time to go
because all this has ever really been
is one long goodbye

This reminds me of a song, can't think of it just yet, but I will. Beautiful and so full of love, but with sorrow and pain too. Wonderful job, how you too, speak from the heart. Julia~

"we both knew/somewhere between an ocean breeze/and the chill of november/this day would come" Goddamn...this...spoken so quietly so as to maybe not reach the reciever's ears, in the hopes the breeze will sweep the words away. Beautiful...~*Beth*~

"because all this has ever really been is one long goodbye" - What a sentence! I didn't like the whole poem cause I'm not too much into romantism but this sentence really caught me!
