...the world chinks to champagne masquerades.
Bubbles rise to the top of glasses reflecting
pseudo smiles; wet laughs of deception
caught in a red-light blitz of silky curtains hiding
downtown windows.
Someplace...
obsequious wives bellow a mouthful, talking
fine gluttony fat as the paychecks for caviar dreaming
caught cold between the space of nothingness; the
grind of escalator teeth like metal babies;
hearing small cries, small mercies - empty lives
drowning in dark bottle paradise.
Someplace where your limited metaphors are sleeping
insomniak poets are bleeding
nite cries like wolves on the fold -
tracking moonlight. Heat sensitive predators
scuffing the smell of fear, tangible as the seeds
of a sour fruit. Someplace unknown
soldiers squat to foxholes; ghost-eyes
battled to a bold dark; heavy breaths
rapid as the artillery load of a genocide count,
whilst fat-cats flap to the slap of snores,
those that got the cream, creased to
fine silk sheets, soured to sweet FA & peddled ignorance.
Those become the perfect schemes, keep em' bleating
like fearful sheep, lockloaded wagons
for the abattoir's fate,
blade-reductions on bovine peace.

The little-voice-in-my-head read this like a slam poem, which it fit perfectly into. I doubt that was your intention but it is something to consider. ~T

it was my intention - this was supposed to be a real magnus opus for me back in 2003, my sort of personal journey and I specifically wanted it to sound good 'aloud' but I have not had the chance to perform it, as I edited it for so many years believing it to be 'unfinished' yadadada...etc

On Tuesday October 7th, 2008, Mistress Shadow (392) writes:
Well it sounded good in my head. I would definitely encourage you to perform this piece.~T

This is amazing! It's like a polyphonic symphony, baroque in all its qualities, with the mad conductor leaving the end as an incomplete cadence, making me wish for just one more note, one more word, to finish this off without longing/wanting/needing, and seething at how I'll never reach this level of thinking.

this is harsh; as only you could paint. . . .. the falseness of idols, of souls that are [soul]less themselves. .. the superficiality of circumstnace, of nothng but life, and how we mangle and destroy. . . .. and pretend, pretend jsut to get through to anothe day that we never really wanted to begin with; this makes me feel so lonely atually; so gluttonous......trying to identify with words when i should eb moved by the eral of people, not the sounds of them . . .. like younpointe d afinger. . . . i should smack you :)...but this write would prolly bite me back if i tried to get at you. . . lol. .. . your iamgery has [i shouldnt say imporved, b.c it always was nearly perfect and original] but its morphed; become stronger. .. . mroe tactile. . .. . loving it. +ness

actually I originally drafted this in 2003! It was a monster-long poem that I wanted to trim down. Eventually I took the more labourous sequences out and melded them into other poems. I only gave certain lines a 008 edit earlier in the year. It was written not long after the second 'Gulf War' invasion - hence the 'foxhole' bit...and the greediness, or the 'turn-the-other-cheek' feel..and Faces was written in 2002 with a few minor 2008 alterations. The only poem written this year of the 3, was 'Avatar' written in June I think. I just posted across the board of my works; as requested (taht post 'something'. And thanx - as always! :D

just how fucking brilliant are you! this jumps from town to country, from then till now, from him to her, telling a tale of where lives meet/destroy and gossip in amongst fluted champagne glasses decorated in false laughter whilst others die for crimes uncommitted, a piece of art that deserves an obedient audience, ..universal observations captured in ink, ..truly splendid. *faved.
