Playing eyespy on the neighbours
just a shufflewink from bland curtains,

nets drawn up like suburban espionnage.

In the cache of your imagination
enough space for wanton memory - you wish

they were Communists; facists - neo Nazis!
       All spite-tongued & crazy jackboots,
skinheading their daughters to a spittoon
            of Swastika misuse, phlegmed hate

or maybe even grave robbers, coming & going
    at night -
or even Greys from Outer Space!

     But most likely,
they're just as dull as you. "Eat your brekkie dear..."

                  But you never know....

you never know...i picture me an old lady sitting at my window spying on all the neighbors, for my life has become that dull, and they are just that entertaining. aliens...yes i could label them that!

haha... well, I had a neighbor who was an illegal from Michoacan MX that sold coke or meth or something and walked around with a 40 mm strapped to his overly jail-inked back. fun to talk to, yep, if only he knew more English we mighta gotten along better. He got busted for a domestic abuse incident, which led to a search and seizure of all sorts of goodies, and I aint seen him since. location, location location... I always thought Hitler looked a little alien. made me think of a flick by hitchcock with jimmy stewart, we're all suspicious under the right light, no? Fun read, nice, uplifting tone with unique and loaded phraseology... keep 'em comin!

... such avant-garde but completely normal thought; i iggle.giggled thinking of hyacinth on 'keeping up appearances' and whatnot. ..i would prefer to have no neighbours; my daughter would play right along with this imagination, develop some plan to stop the underground railroading of heavy narcotics ['no wonder the dog is always sniffing and barking over there, mummah']....sometimes, we jsut need a respite from the everydayness of life and our own mundacity. ..invented or not. ..charlie manson would make for wonderful if not entertaining convo over a fenceline, ya think??? ['no, no; that scream was just great sex'].. .egads.

Or may they're Irish Republican Al-Quaeda Cone Heads with vestigious tails? Hehe..Love the way you encapsulated so much in this short piece. Who really knows their neighbours anymore? Great piece, Brother.

heh...it's very 'English' - I imagined my mum saying this as some posh-pseudo important; the way neighbours compare themselves type of thing; the haves-and-don't-haves....thank guys :D
