Stone cold buildings
Dripping with tears
Children inside
Fend for themselves
Battered torn and alone
Sirens a lullaby
Overworked parents
Trying to find
A rest they wont taste till they die

Losing the battle
That can never be won
Lost before its ever begun
The darkness embraces
one more in the night
Up they will swim
Reaching towards a heaven they earned

Is this another broken promise to the world?
Or is this a prize to be won?
