cold like mists of smoke
                and melody
                                                                      shy autumn
                            sprinkled over

bent and dreary
like weeping buds
her lips

                                                                      i just want to have
                                                                                             my hand
                                                                                          held
kissed

reflections scatter
and shatter into the clouds
poison doves
                                                         vacant

                           to sleep perhaps
                            to dream and then
                                                        to dusk
                                                        and flesh
                                                         ascend
pretty end of bottom lip uncurled eloquence
                                                        softer
                                                                 then my
                                                                 eye could see

to put my ear to his breast and hear nothing
ripples on the water

                                         we're still strangers
                                         echo
entice burning ground
                                                                                     i missed him
                                                                                     after he meant
                                                                                      nothing to me

exception
couldnt leave to let
the stars bleed their light

                fade
                to Eden

fail the red it washes back on when he leaves

abandon hand
in muted light of day december drained
extricate damp leaves decay

divinity
betrayed to endless
might my world, both parts
and both parts would die

beauty held
                                          in dream

dead sleep

you use words like a master craftsman, an impressionist painter who knows just the right amount of hue to guide the viewer through the landscape while letting the imagination fill in the gaps. wonderful piece.
