tattooed stitches broken with a single rust-licked kiss
from a childhood sweetheart long since dead inside
with a soul choked on amputated vision - reluctant astigmatisms
two hearts truncated - one accented indigo, the other scarlet
duplicated jigsaws designed to fit, yet the question is how
..and our pasts are stamped in white on opaque irises - invisible.

memory failure sedates the dethroned God and Lucifer
resurrecting makeshift romeos and juliets barred away behind mosaics
painted with scars and whispers of your name [in f.rag.me.n.ts] once more
despite knowing too well that life will go on, and i will survive due to human nature
how sickly - self-preservation disproves one hundred percent selflessness
and i realize how we are victims of our own greed; pathetic.

tricked into an alternate reality where black and white is dominant
facts are those that leave no reasonable doubt; no possibilities of anything else
start, finish, start, finish, start, finish, c.y.c.l.e
trapped in a translucent prison cell with no ceiling [no end] .no white.
and again i am forced to stare down
i am a self-made pessimist locked in my own world
unbelieving and unable to notice a key engraved with a mango butterfly
glossed and assaulted by a polish of transparent crimson and navy

lost on a journey to a dream [x-nightmare-x] of vivid phrases and glazed eyes
i've yet to recognize my ticket back down to earth, still defying gravity
but i am a poet, and i am built to see in monotonous manners
scripted as if i am nothing but a marionette created for the purpose of infliction
where i am told to reside in a house of havoc speaking words of false sagacity
an establishment with no end, no ceiling [no white still]
and im left in oblivion again
regurgitating regrets and dancing with devils.
(.i. s.p.i.t .g.a.r.g.o.y.l.e.s.)

for your loss.

You are a poet. Extraordinary. I am white washed in your language.

I don't think its selfish to preserve ones own life - very situational idea that one...but point taken and hesitantly accepted. imagination repression 1's and 2's black and white exposition of reality

fantastic piece, an interesting engagement of colours and well presented. not sure of a poet seeing in monotonous manners...

Self-preservation cancels out selflessness, which, from the "narrator's" (not really mine) perspective, is a load of crap basically. The person in question would much rather see a 100% selfless world.

As for the monotonous mannered poets, it referred more to the select person.

".i.s.p.i.t.g.a.r.g.o.y.l.e.s." such emphasis. it's a revealing statement of seriousness. excellent.

"yet the question is how ..and our pasts are stamped in white on opaque irises - invisible"- just one of the lines i'd like to quote here..this was just splendid..sheer art, writ to perfection. i couldn't find any flaws here, just stunning poetry.
