The waves crash on the shore
As the tide rushes in
The sun sinks peacefully
Into the blood red sky
The winds carry the salty sea air
I see the stars more clearly
And I gaze upward
The Phoenix comes
Beckoning me to follow him
I agree
Leading me along the shore line
Finally stopping to rest on an elderly mans shoulder
He looks familiar
He tells me that he is always with me
And that he watches over me
That he loves me
I reach for him
In a blink of an eye
He disappears
Leaving only the Phoenix
Guiding me back through the dark
I wonder where he is
I look at the stars again
And it all becomes clear
*To my Great Grandfather - May he rest in Peace*
