Broken wings flutter on a midnight breeze
While gravestones lament the loss
Dust choked and dying, he lies
Feathers and skin escaping with glee
Alighting on tickling fingers of the wind
Floating away like miniature torn battle flags

Glowing hematite eyes now gaze through blood
Glazed and feverish with words unsaid
His mouth working to scream silence
Pain ricochets through this fallen marvel of a man

An axe to the heart--he brought it upon himself
He got what he deserved
From the pain he caused her to the anger he fed
He is now where he belongs
My fallen glory
My lost cause
...My angel
