only if the words could
speak the forgiveness that i seek
from an undying love
that left me lingering
in between a hopelessness lost
as my Halo fell from my shoulders tonight.
embarking on a journey that
only left the scars wide open
I heard my angel's laugh;
laugh into the sunsets
because my love for Country Music
is almost as strong as my love
for my addiction of Alcohol.
but that similarity soon grew old
into an almost a forgotten memory
because life quit smiling at me today
as I tried to drown out my pain
before the Crucifixion set in.
as once again the repeat button
is playing the same old song of my life
that only caused the lines to
thicken into a consumption
so real that it made my dreams
pass me by.
I just wish that something else
besides my addiction of Alcohol
could make me happy
instead of making my heart ache
and bleed into little tiny indents
that caused you to smile
as you saw my scars
of a life unwanted tonight come true.
