Last night, you had a vision
Of Tokyo lit up like a neon disco in the afternoon.

Waking up wasted to a radio morning;
The sound of invisible Coltrane blasting through

Every stereo wall, every speck of Stardust
In your eyes, as all the words that you heard began to revel,

Crashing through every crumbling fountain,
Every broken pirouette outside,

Architecture guiding you through the streets
Through every pathway that led into a forest
Where Fuji apples littered the dirt.

Every one of them was wrapped in pieces
Of scattered poems
And you were surprised.

Because when you woke up, you found some apples
On your doorstep, wrapped in newspaper,
And thought that it was a weird coincidence;

But those are two different things, I wanted to tell you,
Though I didn’t, in fear of hurting your feelings
Or damaging your beliefs.

So I just continued to plagiarize Magritte
Waiting for you to finally come to your senses
Even though I knew that you really wouldn’t.

But today,
Today was a different story,

I woke up forgiving every anachronism life did to me
And you were at my feet, eating something

Not unlike oatmeal, but something more solid,
Something more together, it seemed.

You said you broke in just to tell me about
Another vision you had while looking at the sewers on the way

To the number store, to buy a book on how jazz can cure
Cats if listened to and positioned carefully.

You said you had a vision of walking along thin lines
Of Capri smoke in a cabaret, as Julie London sang

Which was kind of funny because you hated Julie London,
But knew that I didn’t, that I loved her and sang

Her songs in the bathroom on hot, unrelenting nights
And sometimes on cold and distant evenings as well.

You told me that it was
Some kind of sign that you had to follow,
That it was something about us needing each other,
Through every vision and superstition
And disbelief.

I said okay, and went back to sleeping,
Dreamt about you eating whatever you were eating
And I did not wake up the entire day.

Tomorrow,

You’re going to tell me that you never trusted me
That you always knew there was clear weather before any rain,

But at least, today
You’re thinking likewise.

I'm glad to have discovered you. Each section brought a vivid image to my mind's eye, and that to me is an important part of poetry. The visions it inspires... Your style is rather unique, and urges me to delve further into your work. Spot on poetry, I really enjoyed this.

The title fits this perfectly. No words that I can express will be able to expound on the perfectness of this piece.
