You remind me of gray skies
and warm june rain
humid southern nights
and fitfull sleep
naked as the day I was born
I glance back over words you wrote
subtle touches of melancholy
speaking of lovers huddled under umbrellas
cupids bow
jade eyes
you remind me of wistfull summer love
chance meetings on warm beaches
telling secrets to the jealous night
thinking that we'll never feel this good again
I think back to the talks we had
never running out of things to say
falling in love fast and hard
stolen moments of heaven
You remind me of...
of wanting something i can never have
of hoping against hope
that thrill
that agony
so, maybe you'll read this
and know that I haven't forgotten you
memories linger
like perfume on a pillowcase
new ones wait to be made
summer love, and warm beaches at sunset
You remind me
why I'm in love
with love
