i like the way you come alive
when you're with me
you won't ever try to compare me to a summers day
because you can't stand Shakespeare
but you'll whisper to me
that i have been found both lovely and temperate
or was it tempermental?
sometimes i think that not knowing makes this shit work so well
you rise shamelessly to my warmth
a starving plant to my constant sunlight
a cool thinker
enamored of a spitfire demon girl
beneath the surface
i'm alive enough for the both of us
and you can be my cliche if you'd like
my rock, my backbone
and i'll promise to pretend that i'm keeping you at arms length
if you promise to pretend not to be falling in love with me
cool, baby
and i'll mix you another drink
and give you that look that you love so well
the one that tells you
yes,
you will be getting sexed on the couch tonight
and you
will mix me another drink
and smile like you know damn well what you're getting from me
and later
i'll feel you come alive with me
removing your mask
pieces at a time
i'll taste the salt on your mouth
and for a few minutes see who it is you really are
but only for a few minutes
sometimes it's not really knowing that makes this shit work so well

breezy...like the line "cool baby" makes me think of a certain ambience, almost like a sixties swinging party, haha....getting sexed on the couch, it's so informal and cheeky and quite enjoyable too! :D
