"the deepest of wounds are those that only one's self can see."

what are these voices
that echo within my head?
they repeat all the words
i should have said.

they remind me
of all that i've lost.
they preach of
the hurt i've caused.

what are these wounds
that only i can see?
they hurt in ways
no other could believe.

they remind me
of all i've surrended.
they grow deeper
each time i remember.

these voices in my head,
they echo within the wounds.
they remind me
of all i am without you.

***
i see now all you had given,
and all i had taken.
i just hope i can be forgiven,
because you can never be forgotten.

I hope you shared this with whomever you wrote it for. Again your poetry reeks of familiarity to me. Beautiful
